Adobe After Effects provides a wide range of compositing tools. You can easily import composites made in After Effects into Premiere Pro.
To create a composite from multiple images, you can make partsof one or more of the images transparent so that other images canshow through. You can make portions of an image transparent usingany of several features in Premiere Pro, inlcuding mattes and effects.
To make an entire clip uniformly transparent or semi-transparent,use the Opacity effect. You can set a selected clip’s opacity inthe Effect Controls panel or Timeline panel, and you can fade aclip down or up over time by animating opacity.
Note:
If you simply want to create a fade to black, consider applying a transition such as Dip To Black to the clipinstead of animating opacity keyframes manually.
When part of a clip is transparent, transparency informationis stored in its alpha channel.

Using Digital Hotcakes Transitions with Track Mattes in Adobe Premiere Pro - 1 4. Place the transition matte clip on Video track 3 and line it up with transition clip.
Images can also be composited together without modifying thetransparency of the clips themselves. For example, you can use Blendingmodes or some of the Channeleffects to blend image data from multiple clips into a composite.
Clips on upper tracks cover clips on lower tracks except wherealpha channels indicate transparency. Premiere Pro composites clipsfrom the lowest track up, to create a composite of clips on allvisible tracks. Areas where all tracks are empty or transparentappear black.
Rendering order affects how opacity interacts with visual effects. The Video Effects list is rendered first, then geometric effectssuch as Motion are rendered, and then alpha channel adjustmentsare applied. Within each effects group, effects are rendered fromthe top down in the list. Because Opacity is in the Fixed Effectslist, it renders after the Video Effects list. If you want opacityto render earlier or later than certain effects, or if you wantto control additional opacity options, apply the Alpha Adjust videoeffect.
You can choose how to interpret the alpha channel in a file inthe Interpret Footage dialog box. Choose Invert Alpha Channel toswap areas of opacity with areas of transparency, or choose IgnoreAlpha Channel to not use the alpha channel information at all.
Note:
If you have difficulty identifying which partsof a clip are transparent, choose Alpha from the Program view menuin the Program Monitor. Another way to see areas of transparencyis to add a bright solid color matte on a track below the image youare keying.
Color information is contained in three channels: red, green, and blue. In addition, an image can include an invisible fourth channel, called an alpha channel, that contains transparency information.
An alpha channel provides a way to store images and their transparency information in a single file without disturbing the color channels.
When you view an alpha channel in the After Effects Composition panel or a Premiere Pro Monitor panel, white indicates complete opacity, black indicates complete transparency, and shades of gray indicate partial transparency.
A matte is a layer (or any of its channels) that defines the transparent areas of that layer or another layer. White defines opaque areas, and black defines transparent areas. An alpha channel is often used as a matte, but you can use a matte other than the alpha channel if you have a channel or layer that defines the desired area of transparency better than the alpha channel does, or in cases where the source image doesn’t include an alpha channel.
Many file formats can include an alpha channel, including Adobe Photoshop, ElectricImage, TGA, TIFF, EPS, PDF, and Adobe Illustrator. AVI and QuickTime (saved at a bit depth of Millions Of Colors+), also can contain alpha channels, depending upon the codecs used to generate these file types.
For instructions on how to export video with an alpha channel (transparency), see this post.
Alpha channels store transparency information in filesin one of two ways: straight or premultiplied. Although the alphachannels are the same, the color channels differ.
With straight (or unmatted) channels, transparency information is stored only in the alpha channel, notin any of the visible color channels. Download bleach blade battlers 2 pc. With straight channels, theeffects of transparency aren’t visible until the image is displayedin an application that supports straight channels.
With premultiplied (or matted) channels, transparency information is stored in the alpha channel and alsoin the visible RGB channels, which are multiplied with a backgroundcolor. The colors of semitransparent areas, such as feathered edges, areshifted toward the background color in proportion to their degreeof transparency.
Some software lets you specify the background color with whichthe channels are premultiplied; otherwise, the background coloris usually black or white.
Straight channels retain more accurate color information thanpremultiplied channels. Premultiplied channels are compatible witha wider range of programs, such as Apple QuickTime Player. Often, the choice of whether to use images with straight or premultipliedchannels has been made before you receive the assets to edit andcomposite. Premiere Pro and After Effects recognize both straightand premultiplied channels, but only the first alpha channel theyencounter in a file containing multiple alpha channels. Adobe Flashrecognizes only premultiplied alpha channels.
Keying is defining transparency by a particularcolor value (with a color key or chroma key) or brightness value(with a luminance key) in an image. When you key out avalue, all pixels that have similar colors or luminance values become transparent.
https://treeaspen399.weebly.com/suitcase-fusion-3-serial-number-mac.html. Keying makes it easy to replace a background of a consistentcolor or brightness with another image, an especially useful techniquewhen you work with objects too complex to mask easily. The techniqueof keying out a background of a consistent color is often called bluescreening or greenscreening, although you don’t have to use blue or green; you can use any solidcolor for a background.
Difference keying defines transparency with respectto a particular baseline background image. Instead of keying outa single-color screen, you can key out an arbitrary background.
Keying in Premiere Pro is performed with keying effects. Formore information, see Keyingeffects.
You can use a Garbage Matte effect to blend images. For more information about using the Garbage Matte effect, see Eight-Point, Four-Point, and Sixteen-Point Garbage Matte effects.
Blend clips with a matte usingthe Track Matte Key effect
You can blend clips with a matte (typically, a black and white image, or an image from the Titler.) using the Track Matte Key effect. For more information, see the article, Track Matte Key effect.
Expand the view of a track, if necessary,by clicking the triangle next to the track name to expand its options.
If necessary, click the Show Keyframes button , orthe Hide Keyframes button , andchoose Show Opacity Handles from the menu. A horizontal opacitycontrol rubber band appears in all the clips of the track.
Note:
If no keyframes exist on the track, the rubber bandappears as a straight horizontal line across the entire track.
Select the Selection tool, and drag theopacity control rubber band up or down.
Select the Pen tool, and drag the opacity controlrubber band up or down.
The opacity value and current time appear as a tool tipas you drag.
(Optional) To animate the Opacity effect over time, firstset keyframes. Select the Pen tool. Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click(Mac OS) on the opacity control rubber band with the Pen tool whereveryou want to set a keyframe. Then drag each keyframe up or down toset its value. For example, to fade a clip in, create a keyframeat the beginning of the clip and another a few seconds later. Dragthe first down to the bottom of the clip at 0 opacity. Drag thesecond up to 100%.
For information about adjusting opacity in the Effect Controlstab in the Source panel, see “Opacity” on the page: Fixedeffects.
Note:
You can use either the Selectiontool or the Pen tool to move keyframes or Opacity handles. To adjustthe smoothness of the animation, change the keyframe interpolationfrom linear to Bezier.
Keep the following guidelines in mind when compositingclips and tracks:
Adobe Premiere Garbage Matte
If you want to apply the same amount of transparencyto an entire clip, simply adjust the clip’s opacity in the EffectControls panel.
It’s often most efficient to import a source file alreadycontaining an alpha channel defining the areas that you want tobe transparent. Because the transparency information is stored withthe file, Premiere Pro preserves and displays the clip with itstransparency in all sequences where you use the file as a clip.
If a clip’s source file doesn’t contain an alpha channel, you must manually apply transparency to individual clip instanceswhere you want transparency. You can apply transparency to a videoclip in a sequence by adjusting clip opacity or by applying effects.
Applications such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator can save clips with their original alpha channels,or add alpha channels, when the file is saved to a format that supportsan alpha channel.

To mask a section of video using Adobe Premiere Pro, you can create a mask shape as a new title and apply the 'Track Matte Key' effect to your video clip. This will make the affected area of your video appear cut out, blackening the background around the selected area. You can also reverse the mask, displaying all areas except those selected.
Add the video you want masked to a new project in Premiere and drag the video clip onto the timeline.
Press 'Control-T' to create a new title. Leave the default settings and Press 'OK.'
Select one of the shape tools and draw your desired mask's shape on top of the video. You can also use the pen or line tools to create a custom shape. The shape's color does not matter as long as it has a single, solid color.
Close the title window. You don't need to save first. Your shape will appear in the project's clip bin.
Drag the shape onto the V2 track on the timeline. Drag the edge of the V2 track to the right to match the length of your video, or as far into the video as you want to mask.
Open the Effects tab. Open the 'Video Effects' folder, followed by the 'Keying' folder.
Drag 'Track Matte Key' on top of your video clip on the V1 track.
Open the Effect Controls tab. Expand the Track Matte Key section if it isn't already open. If you don't see this section, make sure you have the V1 track selected.
Change the 'Matte' drop-down menu to 'Video 2.' Leave 'Composite Using' set to 'Matte Alpha.'
To create a reverse mask making your shape designate the blackened area, check the 'Reverse' box in the Effect Controls tab after all other steps.
If you want to use a more complex shape for your mask, you can draw the shape in another program, save it and import it into Premiere by dragging it to the clip bin.
